Liam has been a GP in Brendale since 1988 and he lovesGeneral Practice.In 2021 he completed the Master of Medicine in the field of skin cancerand his passion is now in Skin Cancer detection, treatment and prevention.He also enjoys Chronic Disease Management.For many years he has been an RACGP Supervisor of GP Registrars and is involvedin the education of UQ Medical student in General Practice.Father of 4 children, he enjoys good food, yoga, hiking and going to the cinema.

Dr Sudath Ihalawaththa

General Information

Dr Sudath grew up in Sri Lanka, where he completed his medical degree at the University of Colombo. He migrated to Australia in 2009 with vast experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Before moving into General Practice, he completed postgraduate training in Emergency Medicine from the Royal Australasian College of
Emergency Medicine in 2022. During his emergency medicine training, he worked at RBWH, TPCH (adult and pediatric), Greenslopes PVT hospital, Bundaberg Base Hospital, and QLD retrieval services (Lifeflight & Royal Flying Doctors QLD) for over
ten years.

Dr Sudath has always been interested in providing family-oriented patient care, a holistic approach, and a lifelong journey. He respects the cultural values of all different backgrounds and is focused on continuous education and teaching. He has furthered his knowledge by completing multiple courses and training programs, including adult life support, advanced paediatric life support, preventative health, identifying deteriorating children, ultrasound scan skills at the bedside, and Indigenous health.

Sudath enjoys travelling, cycling, cricket, and spending time with family when he's not working.

Dr Carlee Grice

Carlee graduated from UQ in 2008 and completed her FRACGP in 2016. She balances working part-time and being a mum to 3 young girls. She enjoys all aspects of General Practice but particularly Antenatal care, Paediatrics, women’s health and chronic disease management such as hypertension, Diabetes and asthma. She also performs implanon insertion and removal and also iron infusions.

Dr Maya Venkatesh

Dr Maya Venkatesh has been working as a GP in Brisbane since 1999. She believes in practising holistic medicine and actively encourages preventive health care in all of her patients.She grew up in India where she graduated as a Doctor in 1988.She then spent 7 years training in the U.K. where she was awarded a fellowship in Ear Nose & Throat (ENT) Surgery by the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh.She moved to Australia in 1995 with her family and did her training in General practice and was awarded the FRACGP ( Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practice) in 2000.She speaks 5 languages being fluent in English, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Konkani.Her interests in general practice are broad and include women’s and children’s health, chronic disease management, and encouraging healthy lifestyle and weight management. She has a keen interest in ENT and managing ear disease with the use of the operating microscope which we have at the practice.Hiking, cooking and raising her family keep her busy while she is not working as a GP.

Dr Asiye Doxanakis

B.Med, MPH, FRACGP

General Information

Asiye (Sia) was born and grew in Gladstone Qld and from the age of 8 she wanted to become a Doctor.She graduated in Medicine in 1996 from the University of Newcastle in NSW.Sia did her General Surgical training at John Hunter Hospital, The Royal Newcastle followed by The Princess Alexandra and Queen Elizabeth Hospitals in Brisbane. Sia then spent 10 years at The Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne and rotated through Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Neonatal Intensive Care before settling into the role as a Senior Medical Officer within the Emergency Department. She also gained a Master’s in Public Health.Sia started General Practice Training at Brendale Medical Centre in 2012 where she realized that was where she wished to spend the rest of her career. She has recently done a 12 month rotation at Yuli Burri Ba Mums and Bubs Aboriginal Clinic in Capalaba which was a wonderful experience. She has gained her Fellowship with the Royal College of General Practitioners.

Dr James Biggs graduated from The University of Queensland in 2014. Before working in General Practice, Dr. James spent eight years working in hospitals, initially as a Medical Registrar and later as an Intensive Care Registrar. Throughout this period, he gained experience in various tertiary hospitals across South Australia, Toowoomba, and Brisbane. Dr James is passionate about holistic healthcare, and empowering clients to help them achieve their best selves. Dr Hunt completed medical school at the University of Queensland in 2015. He has worked for Queensland Health at the Prince Charles, Redcliffe and Caboolture Hospitals across a variety of specialties. He relocated to the United Kingdom in 2018 where he worked in several teaching hospitals within the National Health Service, including through the COVID-19 pandemic, before returning to Australia in 2023. He has completed the Sydney Child Health Program and has a continued interest in family medicine and preventative healthcare. In his spare time he enjoys barbecuing, woodworking and travelling.
